About Shopi

Shopi is a Kenyan-based ecommerce marketplace that allows users to create shops, post products, and connect with potential buyers. Shopi enables direct communication between buyers and sellers, but does not process payments or guarantee the outcome of transactions.

User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, up-to-date, and honest information when signing up or listing items.
• Safeguard your account login credentials and activities linked to your account.
• Refrain from uploading illegal content or infringing on others’ intellectual property.
• Ensure your listings and actions comply with Kenyan laws and marketplace policies.

Prohibited Activities

• Selling counterfeit, illegal, or stolen items.
• Spamming or scamming users through fake listings or misleading descriptions.
• Scraping data or using automated bots without Shopi’s consent.
• Interfering with the normal functioning or security of the platform.

Buyers and Sellers

Buyers are responsible for due diligence before making purchases. We partially vet product listings — for example, products must be approved by our team before appearing in the catalogue. We do not vet sellers by default; however, sellers who apply for verification undergo a review process. For all others, we cannot guarantee their identity or the accuracy of their claims.

Limitation of Liability

Shopi is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy, or reliability. We are not responsible for any losses, disputes, or damages arising from interactions between users on the platform.

Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Major changes will be announced on our platform or via email. Continued use of Shopi after changes implies acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be handled in Kenyan courts.
